Hi Bruce, another great show in Oberhausen last night. Intoxicating mood on stage. But I'm really shocked about your note in terms of growing older together. Yes, I know about that of my own. But never thought it could be as bad as you could be aware of it in the dark. Have to think about saving my money for anti-aging and not for christmas ;))) Wish you lots of fun for the rest of the tour with the other boys, a safe travel home and a recreative rest of the year among your family. See you next time in Germany

...and brought a gift for the child ...
thank you Bruce, are you the fourth king of Bethlehem ...?
Cologne and the three kings with her gifts are a special story for us in KÖLN,you know the golden chest in the Don of Köln ? If not, you have to visit it next time in Köln .because your songs are more than gold and silver, they speak to us and bring a prayer for us to the ONE, unimportant, how he is called by you, me or everyone ...
And thank you for your expirience, singing -O Holy Nigt -doesn´t know it before and like it the best of the CD;
Some songs are known here in Germany as well as in Kanada,
1. Angels we have headr,
7. Go, tell...
10 . Little Drummer Boy...
so there are enought songs to sing with you and all owners of the new CD
-Bound for Bethlehem- all ower the world ...!!
Take care and see you in Oberhausen ..
What do you about singing Christian Soldier for us in the break .. ?

My dear Bruce (aka “Mo Ghille dubh-dhonn”…),
thank you for two great musical and personal experiences within the past week - in Cologne, as well as in "good old shabby" Bielefeld. And I am also grateful to myself, that I finally decided to visit your “Köln Concert”, because I hadn´t seen you as solo artist before (blame myself for that), although I have surely always been liking you as the lead singer of that wee Scottish band you are in :- ). Partially I also decided to go to Cologne because the concert perfectly fit my timetable of the first November weekend, as I was on my way to a Gaelic-song-workshop in Bonn on Saturday, so Cologne was just perfectly “lying on the way” and I thought of your concert as something of**ood “attunement” for the weekend… With this attitude, I underestimated you of course as much as I could… Lucky me, because then I was even more overwhelmed by what I heard and saw…

My God, what would I have missed if I had not gone to Cologne (and of course Bielefeld)?! I never thought someone could ever do a version of the heard-a-million-times- Carrickfergus, that gives me such goosebumps - but you did! What a heart-rending yet unbelievably beautiful song you did write with “Through it All”, what a performance of “Flew McCarthy home” that moved to tears, what a lovely “The Water is Wide”, what a powerful “Stan´s Tune”, what a charming spirit of optimism in “My Wings “ and “Good Love” and so on and so on - and moreover all this performed by such great musicians - and not to forget, you are quite rightly proud of your son!

But above all, your voice, your music - or more precisely “Bruce Guthro” - were so thrilling, that indeed I thought of you quite a lot in the course of that singing-workshop the following day, say you served as a wonderful inspiration. When it came to “An Gille dubh-dhonn”, guess who I had in mind, while singing this song?! I have to admit, I am no Eddie Reader, but I did it with deep devotion…!

Knowing now I would miss something if I did not visit the last of your concerts too, I easily convinced a friend to come with me and caught a place in the first row. Well - what a strikingly smiling and charismatic Bruce Guthro I met there- and this time I was not simply blown away, but rather “hurricaned” away! (A miracle, my hair was still halfway in shape :-)) Of course, I am more than ever looking forward to see you with Runrig in a few weeks, but I will miss that intimate atmosphere of your solo-tour, which made it such a special evening.

Meanwhile, “Celtic Crossing” turned out to be also a perfect remedy after long, sometimes very stressful days in the office. Your voice has such a soothing impact, almost like a warm embrace. Unfortunately, it is ""just"" canned music, so you should definitely come back in person and “solo” soon….

Still with a smile on her face while writing this comment and with a lasting new source of inspiration in her spare-time-musicians-heart -

Yours sincerely

Beate

Last night in Munich was a fantastic concert with extraordinary good musicians. I can still hear Roisin Ryan singin´. So this combination of musicians with Bruce Guthro in front is amazing. Although I understand that an artist is not fully content, when a venue is not sold out, for me and my wife is was an evening for feeling very good and comfortable in a nearly private club atmosphere. And be honest, the small crowd was in very good mood and had a lot of fun.
I will fulfill Bruce´s wish and tell all people I know, that they missed a great event last night and that they have to come by the next occasion.
Hope to see you soon back in the South of Germany (also with Runrig), where Appearances of Bruce Guthro or Runrig are very seldom.
Bavaria is pretty big and there are more towns worth to be visited, than only Munich.
I´m looking forward to your christmas CD (we had our appetizers last night) and I´m still humming "Auld lang Syne" (blood ear-crawler).
Deagh dhùrachd!
